The Bentley Bentayga Hybrid has come in for a nationwide product safety recall to address a potential fire risk.

“Due to a hardware defect, the high voltage battery may discharge whilst charging the vehicle. If this occurs, it could overheat leading to a vehicle fire,” says Bentley in its recall notice.

“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users, bystanders and/or damage to property.”

This latest recall follows one in July 2020 of 102 Bentley V8 vehicles produced over 2018-2020, and a later August 2023 recall affecting 159 Bentley W12 vehicles produced over 2015-2023 – both due to potential fuel leaks presenting fire risks.

    • A total of 16 vehicles produced in 2023 are included in the recall
    • The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) list is attached here
    • The original recall notice is attached here

Bentley says owners can continue to use their vehicles, and they will be contacted to arrange an appointment with their authorised dealer to have the vehicle software updated as soon as possible, free of charge.

If you have any further questions, you can contact your local Bentley dealer or the company’s website.
