There’s an updated Xpeng G6 around the corner, but buyers who don’t want to wait can take advantage of special offers on the existing mid-size electric SUV right now.
Xpeng Australia has yet to confirm when the updated G6, revealed earlier this year, will arrive Down Under.
However, government certification documents detail the updated model, which has been approved for sale in both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive guise.

The RWD version produces 218kW of power, up from 190kW and 210kW in the outgoing Standard Range and Long Range variants, respectively.
The new AWD version has a 218kW rear motor and a 140kW front motor for a total output of 358kW.
Battery specifications aren’t detailed in the documents, though the G6 is now listed as being able to tow (750kg unbraked, 1500kg braked).

Notably, the RWD Long Range – which previously used a nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery – has seen a drop in range from 570km, though it’s slightly more powerful and has a superior DC fast-charge rate.
The updated G6 also features tweaked exterior styling, with a new full-width front light bar, rear spoiler, and new wheel designs.
Inside, the 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen has been replaced by a larger 15.6-inch unit that promises a clearer display and “more convenient and efficient operation”.
It complements the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, which sits ahead of a revised steering wheel now incorporating capacitive touch controls. Occupants sit on new “cloud-sense” seats, while there are also some new interior trim elements.
It’s not yet clear when the updated G6 will arrive Down Under, but Xpeng Australia this month announced deals for stock of the pre-update model.
If you buy a G6 and take delivery by November 30, 2025, you’ll receive five years or 100,000km of free servicing and be able to choose between one of two discounts.

The G6 went on sale in Australia last year, distributed by TrueEV. Thus far, the company hasn’t reported deliveries to the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries’ monthly VFACTS report or to the Electric Vehicle Council, so it’s unclear how many G6s have been delivered locally.
It’s thus far Xpeng’s only model on sale in Australia, though the company has previously confirmed it intends to offer the larger G9 SUV and X9 people mover.
The G6 takes on the top-selling Tesla Model Y, as well as a raft of other mid-size electric SUVs from other insurgent Chinese brands such as BYD and Deepal.
